Effects of Cognitive Fatigue on Sport-Related Performance
Mental fatigue is a condition that is triggered by prolonged cognitive activity. This state of fatigue leads to an impairment of self-control and thus to a reduction in athletic performance.
In cooperation with the German Shooting Sport and Archery Federation, this phenomenon is being investigated in Olympic sport shooting. The main focus is on the specific effects of reduced self-control on shooting performance. The findings will be used to derive practical recommendations for action in sport and their effectiveness will be tested.
