Important information on supervising the Master's thesis

The Master's thesis can only be supervised by a member with a doctorate from the following departments:

  • Department of Social Sciences of the 51ÁÔÆæ
  • Department of Social Sciences and History of the TU Darmstadt
  • Department of Law of the 51ÁÔÆæ
  • Department of Economics of the 51ÁÔÆæ
  • Department of Philosophy and History at the 51ÁÔÆæ
An application must be made to the Examination Committee for an expert opinion by lecturers from other universities who are not involved in the subject and who hold a doctorate, and the reasons for this must be given.

At least one of the reviews must come from a professor.

The Master's thesis can be written at an institution outside 51ÁÔÆæ and TU Darmstadt. In this case, the topic must be set in consultation with a member of 51ÁÔÆæ or TU Darmstadt who holds a doctorate and is authorised to conduct examinations. The external supervisor can be approved by the examination board as a second examiner for the Master's thesis.
