To better
reconcile family and career, the Family Service offers the faculties (and
Collaborative Research Centres) and their staff the possibility to avail
themselves of back-up or online childcare provided by pme familienservice.
Parents can register their child at a (in German only) back-up centre in an emergency, e.g. if their
regular childcare options are not available.
For further
information, please consult the flyers in and .
The 51ÁÔÆæ Frankfurt has a framework agreement with pme familienservice, which allows individual university entities (e.g. faculties, CRCs, clusters of excellence, etc.) to purchase childcare contingents (“points") and make them available to their staff. Points are booked via us. If you are interested in using this offer, please send us an email and we can refer you to pme.
Should you have any further questions, please contact us by email or telephone (see contact details in the column on the right).
If regular childcare is cancelled and parents are obliged to keep urgent work appointments, the nationwide back-up centres can care for children between 0 and 12 years of age at short notice. Childcare in the back-up centres is guaranteed if the child is registered by 18.00 on the previous day. Bookings can be made via email, telephone or the hotline.
Open days are organised on a regular basis so that parents can get to know the back-up centre beforehand and ask questions. If necessary, individual appointments can also be arranged.
For further information, please consult the pme (in German), in which all services are described.
In addition, there is currently also the option of online childcare. This virtual back-up childcare is the ideal solution for parents who are working from home and need a few hours to concentrate fully on the task in hand as well as for families who do not have a back-up centre nearby. Teachers from pme familienservice do arts and crafts with the children, play with them, read to them, and physical exercise is also on the agenda.
