To apply for a master's program, you need a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. In addition to your academic qualifications, you will also be assessed based on your academic background. The course content and focus of your bachelor's degree will be examined in relation to the knowledge required for the desired master's degree program.
Be sure to first gather information about which
program you would like to apply for. At the Masterportal, you can also find out which master's
applications are processed through uni-assist and which ones have to be sent to
the respective faculties.
Begin by clicking on the study program you
are interested in. Along with the program's content, you will find under the
headings "Admission requirements" and "Application" all the necessary information
on prior education, language skills, and supporting documents.
If the language of instruction is German, you must provide proof of sufficient German language skills when applying. You can find more information about the German language proficiency test for university admission (DSH) and, if applicable, the DSH preparation course here.
English proficiency must also be
demonstrated in some degree programs. Please note that the required level of
English proficiency may vary depending on the subject.
Always send officially certified copies of
your transcripts and other documentation. If they are not available in German
or English, they must be translated by a sworn translator.
If you have questions about the application or admission process, you can always
contact the subject advisor
(Studienfachberatung) of the respective master's program. They can be found in
the Masterportal (click on the name of the study program
and then on "Overview")

advising office is at your disposal: Masterberatung
