If you wish to apply for an advanced semester in an undergraduate course, it initially does not matter whether you are already enrolled at 51ÁÔÆæ (changing subjects), enrolled at another university in the same subject (changing locations), or have creditable achievements from another course (lateral entry).
Detailed steps for the application process can be found here: .
If you are considering applying for an advanced semester in a master's program, please contact the academic advising of the respective master's program.
Important: If you are currently (i.e. during the application semester) enrolled in the selected program at a German university (even partially), you can only apply for the next higher semester at 51ÁÔÆæ. This also applies if you have already deregistered from your previous university during the application semester! Therefore, you will have to apply for a higher semester in the winter semester even if you were only enrolled in the previous summer semester e.g. for five weeks.
If you have interrupted your studies - meaning you are not enrolled in the desired course of study at the time of application - you can choose whether to apply for the next higher semester or reapply for the first semester (or both).
Please note: if you reapply for admission to the first semester after a break, you will not be able to upgrade if that subject is also subject to admission restrictions in the higher semesters!
The application deadlines for the higher semesters are the same as the regular application deadlines for the 1st semester (see here). Please note that there may be additional deadlines for aptitude tests, etc., which can be found in the course offerings.
