The basic funding for Germans, foreign students and refugees includes Bachelor's, Master's and Diplom degree programs as well as degree programs leading to the state examination. An application is possible before the first semester, except for medicine. The FES supports students with above-average performance who identify with the values of social democracy and are committed to social policy.

The scholarship programs are characterized by financial and very extensive non-material support. The maximum funding period is 36 months and is linked to the course of study. All scholarship holders receive a mentor and access to the foundation's network of excellence. The focus is on support in the fields of electrical engineering, logistics, mechanical engineering and the so-called MINT area. The latter refers to technical courses of study.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation supports gifted and talented students by providing equal opportunities and opening up educational paths in a variety of ways. The scholarship holders are united in an impressive way by the knowledge of the opportunity that education and the scholarship they have been granted represent. Funding for German and EU students as well as MA students from outside the EU.
