Certification of transcripts or records from 51ÁÔÆæ intended for international use
Authentication/apostille is an official certification of documents intended for international use. It confirms the authenticity of the signature, the capacity in which the person signing the document has acted and, where appropriate, the authenticity of the seal it bears. German documents presenting an apostille are internationally accepted. The (regional council) is responsible for issuing the authentication/apostille, provided that the university has already confirmed the authenticity of and signature on the document (prior certification). The Studien-Service-Center (SSC) offers prior certification free of charge.
For prior certification, please send your documents (as a PDF document) to apostille@uni-frankfurt.de. You will be notified as soon as your document is ready.
To pick up your document, you will need to schedule an appointment. Please bring the relevant original documents with you. Otherwise, prior certification will not be possible. Processing can take up to five business days.
If you are acting on behalf of another person when submitting the application for prior certification or picking up the relevant document, it is necessary to present a power of attorney and proper identification.
Enrollment certification
Regarding enrollment certificates, contact the university's student administration office ("Studierendensekretariat").
If you need a prior certification of your enrollment certificate, please ask the university's student administration office to issue a detailed enrollment certificate.
If the enrollment certificate bears a signature and a seal, you can directly contact the (regional council). In this case, prior certification is not necessary.
